Australia's botanicals are wondrous and we want to share them with skincare lovers around the world.
Australia is a land of extremes, with its unique landscape ranging from extremely arid and harsh to lush tropical rainforests.
Due to this dramatic and varying environment, Australian native plants have adapted over millennia to protect themselves against the most unforgiving conditions and, as a result, they have developed high-performing botanical actives and potent phyto-compounds. Thank you nature!
In simple terms, Australia has some of the most unique flora that can't be found anywhere else in the world; some that have adapted to withstand drought, floods, cyclones and extreme heat. This survival mechanism has increased their potency making them an ideal source for extracts designed to heal, nourish and protect cells.
Indigenous Australians have harnessed the powers of our native flora for "bush medicine" over centuries as a naturopathic approach to wellness, for both nutritional and medicinal purposes.
With many of our native plants labelled as superfoods due to their tremendously high levels of vitamins and antioxidants, they make the perfect hero ingredients in our Gwapa range.
FINGER LIME EXTRACT
Citrus Australasica
Finger lime is a shrub found in the rainforest between southeast Queensland and New South Wales and has been used as a valuable source of food and medicine by Indigenous people for thousands of years.
Finger lime contains high levels of vitamin C as well as folate, potassium and vitamin E. It effectively targets fine lines, hyperpigmentation, acne, eczema, and dry skin.
JOJOBA OILSimmondsia Chinensis
Derived from the shrub chinensis, jojoba oil has been used for centuries to heal wound due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Jojoba oil is rich in flavonoids and vitamin E, a potent antioxidant that defends the skin against oxidative damage.
Jojoba oil is a great moisturiser, known to nourish, hydrate and plump the skin.
SEA BUCKTHORN OILHippophae Rhamnoides
Sea buckthorn oil is extracted from the shrub hippophae rhamnoides and is one of the few known oils that contains omega fatty acids such as omega-3, omega-6, omega-7 and omega-9. It contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, and very high concentrations of vitamin C and E.
In fact, the vitamin C concentration in sea buckthorn oil is 10 times more compared to orange and is ranked third as the highest source of vitamin E in the plant world.
This amazing oil prevents moisture loss, evens out skin tone, improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and balances out oil regulation.
